They say the pass’ of time
Is quicker than the wink’ of eye
From morning ‘til the night and dark
A smile becomes a joyless sigh

But for to seek love’s peaceful rest
One need not search the treacherous lands
Best look beyond and to within
And find the guilden seas and sands

Then God’s bright gifts, aglow and glitt’ring,
Will soon appear at your front door
The fruits of life’s constant desire
Will yours become for evermore

Time will stand still and all
Will seem revealed in a glad sigh:
„A girl! ‘Tis true! A smashing girl!“
Time will no longer pass you by

God’s wink is like an open book,
As clear and meaningful to me
My sunny life will keep on shining
Perhaps beyond eternity

Accept my love on bended knee
For all that you have done for me
Thank God that I have breath and health,
Thank you, who showed me life’s true wealth

The pass’ of time, so wise men say,
Should well be used to hope and pray
And I know well, that cometh shade,
My love for you will never fade
But if I stand in God’s good favour
He will turn out to be my Saviour
My raison d’être, in one rhyme,
Is wish to live with you through time.
